The Joys of Skyping

Christmas morning Josh's brother skyped their parents in Lehi, Utah. Josh was like a little kid, mesmerized by his parents sitting on their couch in another city... and the little window of himself. Josh sat in front of the screen and talked to his family up north for a very long time and enjoyed every second of it. He is a real cutie to watch when he gets excited.

Soleless Shoes

When he came home from work one night saying his feet were soaking wet. When I asked him why he showed me his shoes. The soles were worn FLAT, and in some places the rubber sole was gone completely. I could stick my finger in the bottom and touch his foot!

What the soles of his shoes SHOULD look like....
What the soles of his shoes DID look like..

Crocheting Projects 2

Finally finished crocheting a hooded baby blanket for Ellie. Josh gave me a few ideas of how to improve my hooded baby blankets and I must say this one turned out rather nicely.

*The blanket spread flat*

A while ago I tried to make baby beanies. The first one turned out being WAY too big. I threw it aside and tried again for my sister-in-law's baby. I finally went back and straighted up the mess but kept the size, then added a flower to it.

It fits a 3 year old...

But I like the flower so much I made a BABY sized one for Ellie.

25 Week Appointment

We went in for another ultrasound with the specialist and my parents were able to come for it. Unlike last months appointment, Ellie showed us her face! I was very excited to see her cute little mouth, at one point it even looked like she was puckering up for a kiss.

As medical reason we go, the blood clot is reabsorbing which is what we wanted. The specialist gave the same lecture as last month about being aware of what my body is trying to tell me and watching for signs of premature labor. I did mention a some light pains and discomforts I have had and he believed them to have been contractions... which then lead to the lecture again. Oops! I guess I really don't know what I am supposed to be watching for, I thought a contraction was a big pain all over the belly, but they can be light and in only a section of the belly. Hopefully, now I can be more careful and know what to look for.

The beginning of February we will begin doing a non-stress test twice a week. The specialist said he hopes she goes full term, but any time after that he is comfortable about her coming. I am actually beginning to believe she will make it to term. Isn't that fun to say!

Update on Ellie's movements:
She spent the most of last week right-side up, kicking her feet at unwanted targets. I finally started pushing on her to encourage her to move away. She would soon go back to her ways and I would push on her again. Finally, a week later, she has stopped! Now, I get to watch her steady kicks against my belly. Josh has FINALLY noticed her kicks pop out under my skin. We are quite excited and I hear she is going to only get better at it.

I am very excited to say that we have bought a crib and a car seat and stroller has been graciously given to us. We still have a lot to do and hopefully Ellie wont come too early and will give us time to get everything we need! We go to the specialist on Monday and we will know what the next month should bring. I am very excited to see her in the ultrasound again!

24 Weeks

We have finally made it to 24 weeks. I was just thinking about the ultrasound a month and a half ago and watching her move on screen but not feeling any of the movements. Now, it is a whole different story. My sister has even felt her kicks. (About time if you ask me, Ellie has been hitting hard enough see my belly move for a few weeks now!) I am very excited to let everyone feel her move!
Ellie is usually less active in the morning hours, that is when I get the best sleep. One morning Josh had his face up close to my belly and talking to Ellie. Her movements picked right up and started kicking and moving around for him. I love it when he talks to her!
Josh has been working really, really hard. Since I still haven't been able to go back to work and I am still taking it easy; Josh is working, going to class, working on his clinic hours, keeping up on the laundry and all the heavy cleaning of the house plus he wakes up at night for the graveyard. I really appreciate all of his hard work and keeping me comfortable with everything that has happened.
The last weekend, with Neal's (and the kids) help, Josh got the extra couch moved out of the house. With the extra space Josh was able to move the ALL the furniture around just the way I wanted it along with putting up our Christmas tree and decorations AND he deep cleaned the kitchen.

Oh Josh, I could brag about him all day if you let me! I love you, babe!
