21 weeks and it's a...

Finally the time to go back for an ultrasound has come!! All last week I was kicking myself for canceling our, now unnecessary, ultrasound appointment and waited the extra week for the ultrasound appointment with the specialist for a check up and to confirm the sex of the baby.
I will start out by saying, Ellie's in my belly!! (Baby is a GIRL!) She was a bum and was laying with her back to us the entire time. There was only one time that she started to turn over, and we got a glimpse of her face, then she turned away again. So here is a photo of her cute little foot.

After the tech was done with the general measurements, she said that Ellie is measuring 22 weeks and that puts my new due date to March 29, 2010!

Then the specialist came in to talk to us... He showed me on the ultrasound that I have a blood clot and that is not good. He told me of all the scary possibilities of what that blood clot could do. So the steps are "be aware", "use common sense", and "listen to your body". It is very scary to hear someone tell you that your pregnancy is at high risk and the changes of a healthy baby grow by the week, and right now they aren't good. He told us the plan was to get to 32 weeks then, I have to go in and have stress tests done to keep an eye on Ellie. So that is our new goal, keep this child in until 32 weeks. (It worries me that a month ago, our goal was 34 weeks, and now it is 32. We go tomorrow to talk to our normal doctor and he will explain it all again, maybe he can shed some light on things.)

So the specialist ok'ed light activity and going to Littlefield for Thanksgiving. I am very, very excited to starting walking around more, but I still need to go slow, when we got home from the doctors I fell asleep for three hours, and when I woke I was still drained.

National Tests And First Strong Kick

Thursday, Josh left me home. He headed north to his parents house so he could be closer to the testing center Friday morning where he was taking his national massage test. It was hard for me to let him go, but as it turned out, he didn't want to leave me either. After I talked Josh to sleep, I stayed up until 3 am watching television and playing music to my belly. Josh needs help waking up in the morning and I supposed to call Josh at 5:45 am to make sure he was up and getting ready to leave for his test. Josh ended up calling me before that time came. At 4:30!! He couldn't sleep and had been laying in awake since 3 o'clock. Since I had only been asleep for a little while it was easy to wake myself up and keep him company till it was time for him to start getting ready.
By the time he was all done with his test at 9 am I had gotten a few more hours of sleep. Talking coherently was becoming impossible, but I did hear his excited voice when he said he had passed the test! I am so proud of him, he worked very hard and studied even harder for this test.
Friday was Josh's birthday. We had originally planned to go together and spend the whole weekend with his family, but with the turn of events, he went with his brother and his fiance and the came home Friday night.
Saturday night, Josh and I was cuddling on the couch watching TV. I could feel the baby moving so I grabbed Josh's hand and put it down where I felt baby move. As our hands were lowering to my belly, my belly jumped up and met our hands!

19 Weeks Preggo

I am so excited that I have a nice little belly now. The sad part is, I can't show it off since I am stuck in the house. If anyone does come over, I am wearing a comfortable, giant T-shirt and my belly can't be seen to it's full effect. So after a quick shower the other night, I dressed in a tighter shirt and had Josh take a quick picture to document my belly. Then it was back into a comfy T and back to the couch!

Crocheting Projects

A few months ago I decided that I wanted to take up crocheting. I remember when I was little my grandma crocheted, and I knew how to make a chain, and I made myself bracelets and necklaces. It was finally time that I really learned how make things. So, I went out and bought myself a "I Taught Myself To Crochet" book and I began going over the lessons. I have made a few items. The most recent was a hooded baby blanket and two baby beanies for my sister-in-laws baby due in December.

Follow Up App. With Doctor

Today was my two week follow up appointment with my normal doctor. Everything still is looking good. Baby's heart beat is as strong as ever. As for bed rest, I am still down until my appointment with the specialist on the 23rd. My doctor did say that if my condition stands, that next Monday I can start being a little bit more active. I feel very confidant that will happen!
I also asked more about what the the ultrasounds that were taken at the hospital showed. The specialist had not really explained a lot in detail about what the placenta was doing, only how to prevent it from being a bigger problem, "Go home and put yourself into bed and stay there."
The doctor said that the placenta is only touching my cervix, not fully on top of it. As my uterus grows and expands, the placenta will move along with it, up and out of the way. Well, at least that is what is supposed to happen. The doctor was almost certain that it would correct itself, and I would not be on bed rest the rest of the pregnancy. He also, said that at the up coming appointment with the specialist that they were hopeful that the month on bed rest was long enough for it to have already corrected itself or at least show signs that is beginning to.
I am happy to hear the positive, now I will try to enjoy laying around all the time since there is a chance I will be making back to the land of the living before this baby comes!
