It seems that every day Josh hurts himself at work. Let it be objects fall on him, wheel going flat causing him to fall over things, and cutting himself on objects. Over the weekend, he cut himself... again. Worried that the last shot he could really remember getting was when he was really little, he decided he needed to go and get a tetanus shot, just to be safe.
Josh is not a real big fan of needles. Usually when I have blood draw at the doctors, he stays in the hall and he still gets light headed! (Although, he did do really well that night at the ER. He stayed in the room and watched them take blood and give me the IV. He was only nauseas for 20 minutes and after awhile I didn't have the keep site of the IV hidden.)
He went in to the doctors office and my sister gave him the shot. She knew how nervous he was and had him lay down so he wouldn't pass out. She squeezed the chunk of skin on his upper arm and said, "You will feel a poke.... O.K. You're done!"
Josh was amazed he didn't feel a thing! He called me on his way home to tell me how getting the shot was nothing like he remembered as a child. He even bragged that he could get one of those shots every day and wouldn't mind.

His tough face
Later that day...
Josh calls me from work and in a moaning voice says, "It feels like someone sucker punched my arm!!"
I guess the tetanus shot makes the injection site really, really sore. So much for him having a good experience to encourage him not to worry about getting shots.
